How to Stake & Unstake Akash (AKT) on Keplr

Prerequisites ✨

  • Keplr wallet
  • Some Akash Network(AKT) Tokens

Quick Note πŸ“˜

When unstaking your Akash (AKT), you’re going to need to wait 21 days before you get access to your coins. Unfortunately, there’s no way around this as the staking system is purposely designed this way.

Staking Akash (AKT) πŸ’°

  1. Head over to wallet.keplr.app and connect your Keplr wallet
  2. Under Akash, click on Stake
  3. Pick a validator that shares a good amount of revenue to stakers, then click on Manage > (the lower the Commission percentage, the better!)
  4. Click on Delegate
  5. Enter in the amount of AKT you want to stake, then click on Delegate
  6. Approve the Keplr wallet transaction

Congratulations! You now have staked your Akash (AKT).

Unstaking Akash (AKT) πŸ€‘

  1. Head over to wallet.keplr.app and connect your Keplr wallet
  2. Under Akash, click on Stake
  3. The amount of AKT you staked and the pending rewards should appear. Click on Manage >
  4. Click on Undelegate
  5. Enter in the amount of AKT you want to unstake, then click on Undelegate
  6. Approve the Keplr wallet transaction

Congratulations! You have now unstaked your Akash (AKT). You will have access to your Akash (AKT) coins after 21 days.

Where can I buy Akash (AKT)? πŸ›’

Unfortunately, Akash (AKT) isn’t available to trade on reputable centralized exchanges.

If you want to buy Akash (AKT), you first need to buy Cosmos(ATOM) on exchanges such as FTX and Binance, then exchange the ATOM for Akash (AKT) on the Osmosis DEX.

Final Thoughts πŸ—’

Staking is great and all that, but always make sure your funds are secure. To achieve this, we always recommend using a nice hardware wallet like a Ledger.
