“A man in Telangana’s Suryapet town allegedly committed suicide after losing money in cryptocurrency, police said. G. Ramalingaswamy (36), hailing from Khammam, allegedly killed himself by consuming poison at a lodge in Suryapet town.

“Noida: A 34-year-old man allegedly killed himself at his Sector 24 house around 9pm on Monday after “losing some money in cryptocurrency”, officials said. Police have found a suicide note from the room, but his family alleged foul play due to domestic disturbances.

According to police, when the man’s wife went inside the room on Monday night to call him for dinner, she found him hanging from the ceiling fan. “A South Korean man aged in his twenties has committed suicide – and police claim that a crypto investment gone wrong likely drove him to take his own life.

Police in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, said the man was found dead in the area on the afternoon of April 24. No suicide note was discovered, but officers told the media that crypto investment was thought to have driven the man to take his own life – although their investigation is still ongoing.

Emergency rescue teams in China rescued a man named Zheng from drowning in June last year after he jumped from the Xinghaiwan Bridge in Dalian into the sea.

“Hui Yi, the 42-year old CEO and co-founder of BTE.TOP, a data analysis and service provider for the crypto market, has reportedly passed away on June 5. According to information circulated on the Internet, Hui was suspected of embezzling 2,000 BTC (roughly $14.5 million calculated by the recent bitcoin price) from users of the firm to short bitcoin with 100x leverage and lost all the funds.” — 8BTC

Indian Bitcoin Trader Hangs Himself, Blames Senior Cop in Suicide Note — May 19, 2019

“A bitcoin trader in India’s Gujarat State has been pushed to suicide after incurring losses in a cryptocurrency investment he made on behalf of a senior police officer.

According to Ahmedabad Mirror, the Bharat Patel hanged himself early Sunday. This was after Chirag Savani, a deputy superintendent of police, and his elder brother, Harnish Savani (AKA Montu) pressured him to compensate them for losses they incurred after investing in bitcoin.

In a suicide note, Patel explained that he had invested money belonging to the two brothers in bitcoin. Allegedly the senior police officer had invested an amount worth five bitcoins at an unspecified time. But following a decline in the price, the two brothers now wanted a little over 11 bitcoins as compensation” — CCN
